Speed cameras used to fund police training in equador

IRSA – Ecuador has come to an agreement with the National Traffic Police to start a pilot project with 260 speed and red light camera’s in the capital Quito. IRSA – Ecuador .All revenue from the speed camera projects will be used for road safety projects and the contraction of a new traffic police academy in particular. This traffic police academy will have a capacity of 500 recruits per year for basic training, specialization, Master Degree and PhD in road safety studies. Additionally the revenue will be used for the payment of the camera’s, operational traffic police costs, new traffic signs, improvement of pedestrian crossings, black spots, traffic education in primary schools and (advanced) driver training.
