Filling the risk management gap
RVM Fleet Services supports the Government-backed Driving for Better Business Campaign with its new interactive web portal for managing driver records which saves fleet managers valuable time and aids compliance and risk management
Leeds-based fleet accident and risk management specialist RVM Fleet Services has launched a new interactive web portal which enables fleet managers to maintain all their driver safety, accident and training records online, including records of ‘grey fleet’ drivers.
The portal is a new and inclusive component of Full Circle, RVM’s fully integrated risk reduction and accident management programme.
For company vehicle drivers it allows fleet managers to view and maintain comprehensive records for each driver online. These records pull together all the results of driver training, accident management, license checking and driver assessments into one location, saving fleet managers valuable administration time.
Additionally, where appropriate, ‘grey fleet’ drivers are given on-line access to update their own risk data, which RVM Fleet Services then provides to its fleet customers in the form of summary and exception reports.
One of the key benefits of this industry-first facility is that it offers unusually high levels of accountability to fleet operators for all accidents and risk reduction activity. One simple login takes the fleet manager to a secure area where he/she can view the driver file, which incorporates this critical data.
The portal also enables RVM to provide its fleet clients with a powerful report and alerts service based on pre-agreed tolerances.
Typical examples of alerts could include a ‘high risk’ result from a driver training session, a trigger highlighting grey fleet drivers who have not bought business insurance extension on their own vehicle, or a company vehicle driver who has had two or more blameworthy incidents in the last 12 months.
Fleet managers can apply their own tolerances to each alert according to their own view of the risks involved. They can also agree automatic remedial action if particular tolerances are exceeded, without further instruction to RVM. This dramatically reduces management time spent by fleets in deciding what to do next..
Paul Rose, managing director of RVM Fleet Services said: “We are committed to reducing accident frequency and cost and as a consequence, have invested a lot of time and effort into this portal. It is going to save fleet managers a great deal of time keeping their records up-to-date. Not only that but the analysis and reporting tools at their disposal will enable them to monitor and improve their risk management programmes and reduce the risk of compliance problems.”
RVM Fleet Services, which has over 10 years’ experience in fleet accident management, launched its Full Circle service recently, having set up its own in-house driver training team. By having everything under the Full Circle service, the company says it is able to identify high risks and training needs more easily and take remedial action more quickly, which in turn will give the training greater impact.
RVM Fleet Services supports the Government-backed Driving for Better Business campaign and believes it can contribute to the campaign’s aim of reducing the frequency and cost of road traffic incidents affecting business drivers. It is clear that fleets are generally puzzled by the myriad of risk options on the market and unclear how best to move forward.RVM Fleet Services seeks to assist fleets in this position, by offering a simple, one-stop solution that comprehensively covers the key risk reduction opportunities and manages the process of reducing costs.
RVM Fleet Services is offering fleet operators a free Fleet Safety Evaluation, which will include recommendations on tailoring the Full Circle service to optimise the opportunity to achieve a reduction in the cost and frequency of claims.
