TISPOL Conference 2015
06 October 2015 Manchester, UK
This year's TISPOL Conference will focus on effective strategies for protecting vulnerable road users, and will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Manchester. According to figures from the World Health Organisation, half of all crash victims are vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists. Questions for discussion will include:
- How often are they the cause of these crashes?
- What other causes need to be understood?
- Do car and truck drivers take vulnerable road users into account on their journeys?
- Do they tend to focus only on the interactions they have with other drivers?
The key message is that we are all more vulnerable than we think we are - and this year's Conference will offer an excellent opportunity to hear expert input and take part in constructive dialogue on the subject, and therefore pave the way to more effective strategies for reducing deaths and serious injuries among the most vulnerable of Europe's road users.
