TRL: Draft Code of Pracitce

14 April 2021

With funding from Innovate UK and support from a wide range of industry stakeholders, RoadSafe partner TRL has developed a draft Code of Practice for organisations wishing to use automated vehicles in an off-highway setting.

This Code of Practice seeks to provide top level guidance to organisations in all sectors of the off-highway industry on the ways in which working practices should be adapted to ensure that the adoption of automation is as smooth and safe as possible. The first public draft of the Code of Practice is now ready for publication.

To mark its launch, TRL have organised an industry seminar, to bring together key stakeholders from across all sectors of the off-highway industry.

  • Hear from a range of speakers with practical experience of developing and using automated systems for off-road applications. These speakers will describe some of their experiences in adopting automated technologies in the off-highway industry and set the scene for the launch and discussion of the draft Code of Practice for the operation of automated vehicles in the off-highway industry.
  • Listen to the authors of the Code of Practice talk through the development and content of the document.
  • Join a discussion on the next steps for the development of safe working practices for automated off-highway vehicles.
