Driver fatigue and road collisions

28 March 2024

In 2022, it was estimated that there were approximately 1,300 collisions in the UK resulting in injuries from driver fatigue. However, research has shown that it is not easy to estimate the exact number of fatigue-related collisions and that fatigue may be a contributory factor in up to 20 per cent of road collisions, and up to one quarter of fatal and serious collisions.

ROSPA release new Driver fatigue and road collisions fact sheet explaining what the effects of fatigue are on driving and who is most at risk, and how fatigue-related collisions can be avoided.
