New Child Safety Resource for Teachers

1 November 2006

Resource Written by teachers, the web based 3M Streetwise resource for Key Stage 2 pupils has been produced by the technology company 3M, in association with the THINK! team and Brake.

Streetwise comprises teacher, pupil and parent zones, and contains lesson plans, interactive information and educational games. It will be distributed directly to primary schools across the country.

Activities include a new sing-along version of the Hedgehogs cinema ad, new online advertising promoting Be Safe Be Seen messages and several new partnerships.

These partnerships include: Millets, where Be Safe Be Seen messages are being promoted on labels across a range of school wear featuring reflective elements; Whitbread, who have made road safety activity books available at its Brewers Fayre restaurants throughout October and November; and Little Chef restaurants, where reflective arm bands and road safety activity placemats featured throughout October.

Spike the Hedgehog will also be appearing on FUN Radio throughout the autumn and winter to promote seasonal road safety messages.
